Adobe does not want to ban AI art. They want it to only exist in the hands of wealthy copyright holders. They want art styles to be copyrighted for the same reason: so they can make money from owning other people’s work. So they can sue you for drawing something too similar to an art style they own
Adobe is not your friend. Expanding copyright law is far more dangerous for artists than AI will ever be

In any of these settings, elves would pregame harder than hobbits party and everyone else has shit to do tomorrow.

There were a few years there where the US right-wing retreated from using LGBTQ issues as a culture war wedge once it became clear that they had lost the battle on gay marriage. It’s obvious that they’ve now come back to the gay boogeyman but I’m a bit surprised by how much of their new strategy is just “gay people are pedophiles” and “trans people are scary.” I had thought that, if this strategy returned, they’d have done more to reinvent their fearmongering tactics rather than just recycling very old ones.
What’s interesting is that the big new anti-trans push among Republican elites does not seem to be especially effective among Republican voters. When GOP voters were polled on their reasons for voting earlier this year, anti-trans sentiment came in last place among the options provided

In the last 20 years the GOP has gone from muslim terrorists are going to kill you to gays are gonna end your marriage to latino immigrants are raping and murdering people build the wall to trans people are raping your children and transing their gender.
They only have one play and the target just shifts to whoever they think is the most vulnerable at the moment. The fact that their followers haven’t caught on to this is astounding to me.
Like, did the immigrants all disappear? Cause they were threatening all of American life like two years ago. But they lost an election on that platform so they had to find something else quick.
They literally have a new enemy every time they lose a national election cycle.
They won’t ever talk about actual social and economic issues because they can’t win that argument. They don’t have an answer that works because they’ve already cut all the taxes for rich people they can. And it only makes things worse. Their answer for healthcare is that you shouldn’t have any. That doesn’t win votes. Scaring people is their only play.
The right wing always depend on fear tactics and othering someone. Doesn’t matter who, but is always always a minority that has become more visible and more socially present. Us versus them is their only big weapon. Keep things simple and shout them and don’t let anyone see the house of cards is collapsing.
